Joey Alexander, 12 Years Old Pianist Is Nominated For Grammy Awards 2016



Joey Alexander, Indonesian children aged 12 years. He is wonderful boy, because at a very young age he already has a great achievement with the nomination of two categories Grammy Awards 2016. Two nomination is Best Improvised Jazz Solo (trough the song "Giant Steps") and Best Jazz Instrumental Album (album "My Favorite things").

Joey was born on 25 June 2003 in Denpasar Bali, Indonesia. He began to be known the world since the middle of 2014. This young pianist manage to attract attention at the gala dinner that made winning nine Grammy Awards, Wynton Marsalis, in Jazz at Lincoln Center, New York, USA. At that time, Joey playing Round Midnight from Thelonius Monk.

Joey's participation in this event began when Wynton Marsalis see his playing piano video on YouTube, then Marsalis became interested and invite Joey in the event.

Participation in this event which makes Joey the attention of the world. Various international media like The Wall Street Journal and CBS News reported on a child this amazing figure.





Joey has been in existence in many international jazz stage. Starting from Java Jazz Festival to Jazz Improvisation Festivals in Ukraine.

From that experience, Joey finally managed to get the opportunity to work on album My Favorite Things that involves winning Grammy Awards, Jason Olaine.
