Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato is scheduled to perform at the concert "Honda Civic Tour: Future Now" is stopped in several cities in the United States. But they canceled the show in North Carolina. They did this to protest the state's passing of the controversial House Bill 2 (HB2). The law considered as a form of discrimination against LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender).
Quoted by RollingStone, "After much thought and Deliberation, Nick and I have Decided to cancel our shows in Raleigh and Charlotte, "Lovato said in a statement to GLAAD." We know the cancellation of Reviews These shows is disappointing to our fans, but we trust that you will stand united with us against this hateful law."
"One of our goals for the Honda Civic Tour: Future Now has always been to create an atmosphere where every single attendee feels equal, included, and accepted for who they are," Lovato added.
"North Carolina's discriminatory HB2 law is extremely disappointing, Advanced Lovato in a posting on Twitter." And it takes away some of the LGBT community's most basic rights and protections. But we will not allow this to stop us from continuing to the make progress for equality and acceptance."
The duo is scheduled to perform in Charlotte on June 30 and the Raleigh on July 2.
Meanwhile, HB2 law prohibits LGBT to prosecute human rights violations in the workplace and to wear certain common bathroom. No wonder this law was opposed by Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas who is a supporter of LGBT.
